Military Edition - OnTrack Devotions

OTD Military EditionAdapted by military veterans for military personnel, the Military Edition of OnTrack Devotions is designed to develop the skill and discipline of effective daily devotions by teaching the building blocks of inductive Bible study, building invaluable skill for a lifetime of personal spiritual growth.

What is it? The Military Edition of OnTrack is a 12-month study through the New Testament and Proverbs written for today's military personnel. The included User Guide walks the reader through the basics of inductive Bible Study (Observation, Interpretation, Application, Implementation), allowing them to start at their current skill level and work to develop skill while diving into the meat of the Word of God. Whether you are a Chaplain looking for resources for your unit, a church with active duty military personnel or a soldier that needs a field-ready devotional guide, MOTD fits the bill.

What is included? The year is broken down into 12 one-month booklets with a User Guide that introduces the "why" and "how" of the study. Here's what you get:

  • User Guide
  • January: The Book of Luke
  • February: The Books of 1 & 2 Corinthians
  • March: The Books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians & Colossians
  • April: The Book of Matthew
  • May: The Book of Acts
  • June: The Book of Revelation
  • July: The Books of 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus & Philemon

  • All of the pieces are housed in a box that can be set on a bookshelf or stowed in a footlocker. Only tote the current month around... either in your Bible or in a pocket!

Why MOTD? While there are a lot of great devotionals available, most of them do the thinking for the reader. MOTD's daily devotional thought points the reader in a direction of discovery and then sets them loose through a passage of scripture. Follow-up questions then walk the reader through the four basic steps of Bible Study... Observation, Interpretation, Application and Implementation. Repeating this process daily, readers gain skill and confidence in their capacity to read, understand and apply the Word of God in their daily lives, an investment that will pay immediate and eternal dividends.

Tim's BuddiesWhat's "military" about it? Most resources available in "military" formats toss a digital camo cover with stenciled text on an existing resource and call it good. That doesn't negate their value, but we stripped OTD down to its frame and rebuilt it for military personnel. From an active military "voice" in both the devotional thought and discovery questions to making sure its finished size is field operable (profile slides easily into BDU pockets), MOTD engages the soldier, sailor, marine or airman on their terms. The development team led by Timothy R. Morris (SGT, USMC) consulted with retired and active duty military chaplains in every phase of the development process to build an effective devotional for today's military.

Begin today a journey that will last a lifetime and will change your life forever.
